Madrid Week 1
My first week in Madrid has been pretty amazing… apart from the crappy weather. It’s soo cold!
When you think Spain, you automatically think sunshine. But due to the high altitude, Madrid has pretty chilly winters. Hoping for warmer weather in the weeks to come. Work has been okay I guess, I don’t have a lot of responsibility yet but seeing as it’s only my first week its understandable.
On Wednesday I went to a restaurant/bar called Pez Tortilla to have my first ever Spanish Tortilla. Tortilla (is not bread as you may be thinking) it’s a Spanish dish made mainly of eggs and potatoes. Extras such as ham, and cheese can also be added. Mine had prawns, spinach and cheese it was sooo good! Pictures don’t do it justice. (doesn't look very appetising tbh)
On Thursday I went to see a flamenco show. Flamenco is a traditional Spanish dance show, and it usually consists of a guitarist, singer and dancer(s). It is a beautiful and emotional show, and a must-see if you ever visit Spain.
Today, I went to the Real Madrid stadium, Santiago Bernabeu, for a stadium tour. It’s literally like walking through a museum dedicated to Real Madrid and if you’re into football and/or a Real Madrid fan you should definitely go. I don’t mind a bit of footie every now and then but I’m not a hardcore fan and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hope you enjoyed reading.
